Cardiologists

Dr Sylvia Chen

Dr Sylvia Chen trained in clinical Adolescent and Adult Congenital Heart Disease, Obstetric Cardiology, and in Cardiac MRI at both the University College London and at the Royal Brompton Hospitals, United Kingdom. She specialises in congenital heart disease for both adolescents and adults, and is skilled in cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging (Cardiac MRI), transoesophageal echocardiography, and cardiac CT. Additionally, she is a perinatal cardiologist with expertise in managing heart disease in pregnant women

Dr Sundar Veerappan

Dr Sundar is an experienced Paediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiologist. He completed extensive training in Paediatric Cardiology in Sydney and Brisbane. He then undertook further sub-speciality training in Adult Congenital Heart Disease in Bristol and advanced cross-section imaging (Cardiac MRI and CT) at the Evelina London Children’s Hospital. He has subsequently worked as a consultant in Paediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiology at the Starship Children’s Hospital in Auckland, the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network and the Perth Children’s Hospital.   

Prof Samuel Menahem

Prof S. Menaham graduated as top of his year from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, he gained his specialist qualification to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians after completing his residency at the previous Prince Henry’s Hospital and the Royal Children’s Hospital. He has extensive experience in general Paediatrics and the subspecialty of Paediatric cardiology.

Dr Sue Ling Ching

Dr Sue-Ling Ching graduated Dux of her school, and attained her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from University of Melbourne. She completed cardiology training at Eastern Health, followed by a two year fellowship in Cardiac Rhythm Management at Monash Heart, Monash Medical Centre. She is a general cardiologist and Cardiac device expert with a particular clinical interest in Arrhythmia Management including the insertion and follow-up of Cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators.

Dr Christopher Neil

Dr Neil has practiced medicine for over 20 years, graduating from the University of Melbourne in 2001 and specialising in Cardiology and commencing consultant practice in 2009. He subsequently completed a PhD in Takotsubo cardiomyopathy at the University of Adelaide, before post-doctoral research and a fellowship in advanced imaging in Aberdeen, UK.

The passion of Dr Neil has always been to see improvement in the lives of his patient’s, in a shared decision making partnership. He has been especially interested in  patients with cardiomyopathy or established heart failure, a group which has been a focus of Dr Neil’s research over time. Dr Neil believes the best results can be obtained only when the individual is genuinely listened to, fully informed and properly empowered to take control of their health.

Dr Fei Y. (David) Chong

Dr Fei Y (David) Chong completed advanced cardiology fellowship in echocardiography and cardiac CT at the Flinders Medical Centre in South Australia. He has been  attested by the National Board of Echocardiography (North America) to have successfully completed the Examination of Special Competence in Adult Echocardiography (ASCeXAM). He works as a  cardiologist with special interest in general cardiology and cardiac imaging.
